Very important information regarding the programming the Transponder AND the Remote. These instructions are to program the REMOTE portion ONLY, not the Transponder inside the key. Programming the Transponder will require a tool like the T-Code, J-Box or Toyota TechStream, Etc. NOTE: The Transponder and Remote Program separately from each other (2 different programming sessions, one with tool and one OBP) <b>Be sure to review all programming steps before proceeding</b> <div class="page" title="Page 613"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <span style="text-decoration: underline"><strong>On-Board Remote Programming (OBP) Procedure</strong></span> 1. Driver's door open, all other doors closed, key removed from ignition switch. Within 5 seconds: Insert and remove the key from the ignition switch twice. DO NOT TURN IGNITION SWITCH ON. <ol start="2"> <li>Within 40 seconds: Close and open driver's door twice. Insert and remove the key from the ignition switch.</li> <li>Within 40 seconds: Close and open driver's door twice. Insert the key into the ignition switch and close the driver's door.</li> <li>Switch ignition ON and OFF: A. Once to program a remote transmitter code while retaining the original codes. B. Twice to program a key remote transmitter code while erasing the original codes. C. Three times to check how many key remote transmitters are currently registered. D. Five times to erase all registered codes.</li> </ol> 18 </div> <div class="column"> 5. Remove key from ignition switch. System should now lock and unlock vehicle once, twice or three times depending which mode has been selected. One to four times, slowly, to indicate number of key remote transmitters registered. 6. Within 40 seconds: Press and hold LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 1.5 seconds. Within 3 seconds: Press any key remote transmitter button. System should now lock and unlock vehicle once to confirm registration or twice to indicate registration has failed. 7. Within 40 seconds: To program additional remotes repeat step 60 now on each additional remote you want programmed. 8. To exit programming mode open driver's door or insert key into ignition. 9. Step out of car with remote(s) in hand, close doors and test remote(s). &nbsp; </div> <span style="text-decoration: underline"><strong>Programming Instructions for the Transponder</strong></span> To add this key you must have an existing master key. 1. Open drivers door. All other doors closed but unlocked. 2. Insert the master key into the ignition and remove (without turning) 5 times leaving the key in the ignition on the 5th time. 3. Close and open the drivers side <a href="https://www.ebay.com/sch/eBay-Motors/6000/i.html?_from=R40&amp;_nkw=door" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">door</a> 6 times leaving the <a href="https://www.ebay.com/sch/eBay-Motors/6000/i.html?_from=R40&amp;_nkw=door" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">door</a>open on the sixth time. 4. Remove the master key.  The <a href="https://www.ebay.com/sch/eBay-Motors/6000/i.html?_from=R40&amp;_nkw=security" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">security</a> light should illuminate solid red on the dash and stay lit. This indicates the vehicle has entered programming mode. 5. Immediately insert the new unprogrammed key (do no turn) 6. Leave key in ignition for approx 60-80 seconds (security light will blink during this process). The security light will stop blinking. After the light stops blinking remove the new key. 7. Immediately insert the (old) master key and turn key to ON position then turn off and remove key. </div> </div> <div class="row"></div>
