Programming Instructions

Follow these steps to program this key to the vehicle.

<strong>AVALON </strong> This procedure is for 2008 Avalon models that have a separate key and remote. If you have a Smart Key you will have to have a Locksmith or Dealership program it for you. <strong>Be sure to review all programming steps before proceeding</strong> <ol> <li>Start with the key out of the ignition, drivers door is open all others closed and drivers door is unlocked.</li> <li>Perform these steps within 5 seconds. Insert the key into the ignition (Do NOT Turn) Pull key out. B. Insert the key into the ignition (Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.</li> <li>Perform these steps within 40 seconds. Close then open the driver’s door. B. Close then open the driver’s door. C. Insert the key into the ignition (Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.</li> <li>Perform these steps within 40 seconds. Close then open the driver’s door. B. Close then open the driver’s door. C. Insert the key into ignition and leave it in ignition. D. Close the driver’s door. E. Turn the ignition to ON (Do NOT Start) then back to OFF. F. Remove the key from the ignition.</li> <li>Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should lock then unlock automatically indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point.</li> <li>Perform these steps within 40 seconds. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1.5 seconds. B. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons, Press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should lock and then unlock once indicating successful programming. If the door locks cycle twice, repeat steps A and B in step 6 as the remote was not accepted. C. Open drivers door. All other doors closed but unlocked. 2. Insert the master key into the ignition and remove (without turning) 5 times leaving the key in the ignition on the 5th time. 3. Close and open the driver’s side <a href="https://www.ebay.com/sch/eBay-Motors/6000/i.html?_from=R40&amp;_nkw=door">door</a> 6 times leaving the <a href="https://www.ebay.com/sch/eBay-Motors/6000/i.html?_from=R40&amp;_nkw=door">door</a> open on the sixth time. 4. Remove the master key.  The <a href="https://www.ebay.com/sch/eBay-Motors/6000/i.html?_from=R40&amp;_nkw=security">security</a> light should illuminate solid red on the dash and stay lit. This indicates the vehicle has entered programming mode. 5. Immediately insert the new unprogrammed key (do no turn) 6. Leave key in ignition for approx 60-80 seconds (security light will blink during this process). The security light will stop blinking. After the light stops blinking remove the new key. 7. Immediately insert the (old) master key and turn key to ON position then turn off and remove key. &nbsp;
